E know these things
Living in this land ov Arthur’s footsteps,
Where once great battles and bonds were formed,
When thee people came together as one forever,
A powerful living community born,
feel it stir deep inside your heart,
thee drums ov thee ancient shaman returns,
echoing back to thee stones ov thee seasons,
where dreams were realised and thee fires burned,
out of the smoke and mirrors mist now,
awaken all and remember we were here,
before these new Romans stole our history,
and confused our children with thee wrong ideas,
it is we who built thee sacred temples,
before this cross ov lies had turned,
our nature into destroying each other,
and other nonsense E wish we never learned,
we put our hands down to each other,
only raised our fists in unity,
and every man was my king my brother,
and every woman thee goddess and queen,
we understood where we had come from,
and so we then knew where to go,
thee forests and thee valleys our homes reflected,
in thee spiral power of thee dragons flow,
no one starved and no one famished,
with trust in a true community,
how did we let these memories vanish?
And get enslaved by machinery?
E know these things are deep inside you,
E know these things we all have dreamed,
we are all children ov thee sun and moonlight,
awakened to answer our mysteries,
yes we are all children ov thee sun and moonlight,
awakened to answer thee mysteries. (08/01/11)

Beating police repression after the student occupation
Beating police repression after the student occupation
This is the piece which led to the Fitwatch website being suspended – please circulate spartacus style
The remarkable and brilliant student action at Millbank has produced some predictable frothing at the mouth from the establishment and right wing press. Cameron has called for the ‘full weight of the law’ to fall on those who had caused tens of thousands of pounds of damage to the expensive decor at Tory party HQ. Responsibility is being placed on ‘a violent faction’, after the march was ‘infiltrated’ by anarchists.
There are an encouraging number of intiatives to show solidarity with the arrested students – something that is vital if they are to avoid the sort of punitive ‘deterrent’ sentences handed out to the Gaza demonstrators. A legal support group has been established and the National Campaign against Cuts and Fees has started a support campaign. Goldsmiths lecturers union has publicly commended the students for a ‘magnificent demonstration’ .
This is all much needed, as the establishment is clearly on the march with this one. The Torygraph has published an irresponsible and frenzied ‘shop-a-student’ piece and the Met are clearly under pressure to produce ‘results’ after what they have admitted was a policing ‘embarrassment’.
51 people have been arrested so far, and the police have claimed they took the details of a further 250 people in the kettle using powers under the Police Reform Act. There may be more arrests to come.
Students who are worried should consider taking the following actions:
If you have been arrested, or had your details taken – contact the legal support campaign. As a group you can support each other, and mount a coherent campaign.
If you fear you may be arrested as a result of identification by CCTV, FIT or press photography;
DONT panic. Press photos are not necessarily conclusive evidence, and just because the police have a photo of you doesn’t mean they know who you are.
DONT hand yourself in. The police often use the psychological pressure of knowing they have your picture to persuade you to ‘come forward’. Unless you have a very pressing reason to do otherwise, let them come and find you, if they know who you are.
DO get rid of your clothes. There is no chance of suggesting the bloke in the video is not you if the clothes he is wearing have been found in your wardrobe. Get rid of ALL clothes you were wearing at the demo, including YOUR SHOES, your bag, and any distinctive jewellery you were wearing at the time. Yes, this is difficult, especially if it is your only warm coat or decent pair of boots. But it will be harder still if finding these clothes in your flat gets you convicted of violent disorder.
DONT assume that because you can identify yourself in a video, a judge will be able to as well. ‘That isn’t me’ has got many a person off before now.
DO keep away from other demos for a while. The police will be on the look-out at other demos, especially student ones, for people they have put on their ‘wanted’ list. Keep a low profile.
DO think about changing your appearance. Perhaps now is a good time for a make-over. Get a haircut and colour, grow a beard, wear glasses. It isn’t a guarantee, but may help throw them off the scent.
DO keep your house clean. Get rid of spray cans, demo related stuff, and dodgy texts / photos on your phone. Don’t make life easy for them by having drugs, weapons or anything illegal in the house.
DO get the name and number of a good lawyer you can call if things go badly. The support group has the names of recommended lawyers on their site. Take a bit of time to read up on your rights in custody, especially the benefits of not commenting in interview.
DO be careful who you speak about this to. Admit your involvement in criminal damage / disorder ONLY to people you really trust.
DO try and control the nerves and panic. Waiting for a knock on the door is stressful in the extreme, but you need to find a way to get on with business as normal. Otherwise you’ll be serving the sentence before you are even arrested.

Thee fall ov man
Growing up watching you get thee worst from thee worst, never finding your way out ov it, your life is accursed, one new idea forward, but your wisdom is reversed, blinded by thee visions but not seeing their worth, tearing down spirit and stamping on our pride, always defending when we fight for our rights, stopping all our futures by stepping on thee flow, how can we grow?, E ask you how can we grow?, we are not children anymore, don’t you know?, we wanna move as we like, we wanna choose how we go, smoke a little, healing potion, but you always say no, now you know its no crime, yeah you know its no crime, simple truths and simple lives, easy on thee pressure and crazy in thee eyes, part ov thee cultural history ov thee tribes, that lived all over this land, now this you must understand, but you pretend you don’t hear, you pretend we’re not here, you build more walls with your fear, this is so totally clear, and so despite all your claims, we know you’re lost and insane, you got lost in your own game, you cant remember your name, and it is we who see all, without us you will fall, so time to follow our fate and ignore all you create, because we treat how we find, and you are not ov our kind, and you are not ov our time, you are nowhere in sight, like a bad dream mainlined, just a moment sublime, and our flag still flies, yes our flag still flies, we are made ov stronger stuff, cause we were made to survive, you can trace our spirit back to our ancestors times, round and round we go, never captured or destroyed, through thee ages with thee sages, we keep sailing across thee void, lighting fires, dancing circles, in thee trees and under stars, from thee valleys to thee mountains, down thee rivers we flow far, always connected and in tune with thee world, beneath this façade, yes beneath this façade, you will never defeat this feeling that we have, thee circle is unbroken, though sometimes you make us sad, but our family is our strength and our bloodlines so entwined, that we will always be, yes we will always be, so we watch you banging your own head against thee wall, and you never hear thee call, you hear nothing here at all, and they say thee fall ov man has cursed us all, was he pushed or did he fall?, were we pushed or did we fall?, or were we just banging our heads on our walls?, were we just banging our heads on thee wall? (E hear nothing at all!)

Apart at thee seams
Apart at thee seams
And thee world keeps turning as thee prophecies rise,
Seeing things E never thought, E would see with my own eyes,
Capitalism crumbling like the walls ov Jericho,
Earthquakes and flooding bring the future, here we go,
Thee forces ov oppression try so hard to stop thee change,
But this wind’s powered by nature, it is she who rearrange,
Corrupt politicians just don’t know what to do,
As their violent police force pins thee blame on me and you,
Why don’t they let go? For thee flow will strike them down
If you don’t move with it, it will remove your crown
Because it was written, to come to an end,
And before us all now thee future portends,
Yes it feels like thee world is coming apart at thee seams,
But it’s just thee realisation ov all ov our dreams,
For we are thee dreamers, thee changers ov things,
We envisioned a levelling; we grew our own wings,
They said that thee weak should inherit thee earth,
For we are its treasure, we are its worth,
We are thee countries, we are thee law,
We are thee judges, we are thee war,
We are thee speakers ov all that is true,
So forget all they said now and listen to you
Yes it feels like thee world is coming apart at thee seams,
But it’s just thee realisation ov all ov our dreams,
Yes it feels like thee world is coming apart at thee seams,
But it’s just thee realisation ov all ov our dreams.
